The first sessions will focus on teaching the skills of effectively formulating the research question, searching the evidence and managing the process.

Following sessions will focus on meta-analysis and SR critique. The final session will be focused on critical evaluation and writing the review.

Throughout the process of completing the review trainees will have regular supervision regarding the review and also be encouraged to seek, where appropriate, advice from the module leaders.

Introduction

Marshaling the evidence is key to the role of health professionals, policy makes and academics. This 30 credit Systematic Review course sets out, through following the process of carrying out a systematic review, to teach the practical skills required for searching, evaluating and synthesizing evidence in health behaviour. 

The course tracks the completion of a review and therefore is spread over one year.

Learning and Teaching

Teaching and practical sessions are offered either online, in a complete distance learning package or by attendance.

There is also the option of supervision and assessment of a completed Systematic Review with 30 credits available at Masters level and peer support is available throughout the process.
