Introduction

This 15 credit Practice Assessor module aims to provide you with theory and practical skills in order to facilitate learning and assess students in specialist and advanced healthcare practice. It replaces the Practice Teacher module and has been mapped to the NMC Standards for student supervision and assessment (2018) to fulfil the requirements for practice assessors.

The level 6 (UZVSKN-15-3) or level 7 (UZVSKP-15-M) module recognises the unique set of skills required in order to assess learners in specialist and advanced healthcare practice including but not limited to Specialist Community Public Health Nursing, District nursing, sexual health, or prescribing programmes.

Please contact the module leader if you would like to discuss the suitability of the module for you.

Using a spiral curriculum, this module builds on current knowledge by asking you to consider in more depth your knowledge and application of evidence based teaching and learning strategies, your accountability and leadership as an educator in your area of practice.

Key Facts

You may be able to study these modules at Level 6 (BSc level) or Level 7 (Masters level) depending on your academic circumstances. Please contact the CPD Team or the Module Leader for advice if you are unsure which level would be best for you.
