Assessment

Summative assessment is by examination and oral presentation

Unseen written examination

The three hour unseen written examination assesses the students' understanding of the identification, risk assessment, control and prevention of workplace hazards and the practice, education and regulation by health and safety practitioners to determine appropriate intervention strategies.

There are two sections:

Section A comprises a compulsory case based scenario, where students will be presented with information and/or data relating to a health and safety situation and are asked to determine an appropriate intervention which will minimise/ prevent impact on human health.

Section B requires a critical analysis of a statement or critical response to a question by means of an essay approach. All outcomes are potentially assessable in this paper.
