Content

If you are interested in attending the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction course at UWE Bristol, you will be invited to attend an orientation session. This will tell you more about the course and answer any questions you may have.

It will also be an opportunity for you to experience a short mindfulness practice in a small group environment which can help you assess whether this course is right for you at this time.

On booking, you will be asked to complete a short questionnaire. Your information will be kept confidential at all times, and will only be seen by the course leader. At the end of the course, your information will be confidentially destroyed.

Upon completion of your orientation session, you will be invited to formally register on the course and pay your course fees via the UWE Bristol WPM System.

Entry Requirements

This short course is appropriate for anyone struggling with the effects of stress who is interested in meditation and willing to practice the in-class exercises at home between sessions.

Introduction

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction is an evidence-based eight-week mindfulness course, in which you will learn how to practice mindfulness meditation to better meet the stresses in your life.

The in-session and home practices, which include some gentle movement practices, have helped many people to increase their awareness of their thoughts and emotions, to improve their concentration, and to improve their relationships.

"The challenge of finding time can be overcome when you realise everything else can wait".

" Always felt comfortable and relaxed throughout, couldn't ask for a better teacher".

Student quote

"A rollercoaster, full of emotions, but a good one. I feel like I'm waking up to myself again. It's been very hard in places, and I even considered dropping out, but I'm glad I didn't."
